1-Minute Catholic Evangelization

1-Minute Catholic Evangelization

Steve: Hi, Jerry, have you decided to come to church with me?

Jerry: Thanks for the invite, Steve, but the Bible calls everyone to be Catholic.

Steve: Catholic? You can’t be serious.

Jerry:  Well, in Matthew’s Gospel, who did the risen Jesus commission to make disciples of all nations? (Mt 28:16).

Steve: He commissioned the eleven

apostles.

Jerry:  And didn’t Jesus say, only to those apostles, that he would be with them always? (Mt 28:20).

Steve: That’s true; he did.

Jerry:  To replace Judas, they chose

Matthias, the first of the apostolic

successors that today include our Pope and Catholic bishops. (Acts 1:26). Does the Bible say that, because of future Judases or other reasons, Jesus would break his promise to be with his one apostolic Church always?

Steve:   No, it doesn’t.

Jerry:   The Bible calls everyone to be

Catholic, Steve. Check it out at
